Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542

In July 2023, the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) was approved by the EU. The aim of the regulation is to create a harmonized legislation for the sustainability and safety of batteries. Over time, it will replace the Battery Directive (2006/66/EC) which has regulated batteries in the EU since 2006.

It it is high time for manufacturers and importers of battery-operated products to review their products. Do their products in their current form really comply with the new requirements? What do manufacturers, importers or distributors need to take into consideration?
